Assassin's Creed Unveils Bizarre AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that breaks usual forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Disclosed
According to the official statement, "A strange confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where rumors of prohibited rituals and terrifying changes resonate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden cult.
The mission centers on "peculiar tests and a fearsome foe" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses
The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview ends with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Bonus Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an special katana in addition to numerous items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe

Latest Free Story Update
This patch also brings the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Enigma."
