Brian Eno Urges Public Help to Get Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The project aims to provide aid to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a opportunity to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it fails to, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a very special place for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would rather die in dignity than live a life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced after a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. Originally intended to be done as a live recording, the rendition was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The diverse array of performers contributing to Lullaby includes a group of well-known figures from the industry. All took part in the earlier concert, which managed to collect a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a team of talented individuals. The single blends a fusion of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the project have emphasized that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These resources will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a spokesperson explained. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the region was noted for its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of infrastructure said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a few million is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is first of all making this cause better known and proving the human dimension of the story.”

The song is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a digital service from the 19th of December.
