Fans Urge Arrest of Individual Who Touched Ariana Grande
Loyal followers of the actress are urging that a individual who breached a barrier and touched the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be taken into custody or deported from Singapore.
A viral clip shows the individual from Australia bypassing camera operators and lunging at Grande while the performers walked down a yellow carpet accompanied by onlookers.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the gathering by guards.
Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "released after being taken in", though official papers showed that he was due to attend court on the next day. It is not clear if he was faced legal action.
Record of Incidents
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Troll Most Hated", has crashed a concert or event. His Instagram profile contains recordings of him interrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the city last year.
"There needs to be action applied against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," wrote an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his actions.
"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" another Instagram user wrote.
Followers Express Concern Over the Star's Safety
Numerous supporters accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing PTSD after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring many.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote a further response on Instagram.
Several fans also faulted event staff at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while some demanded social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's uploads.
Response and Premiere Information
In footage shared widely, Grande looked shocked when she was approached by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by security.
Grande has not commented on the event, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.
Many of fans had gathered in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international debut in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it began.
The movie, to be premiered on November 21, is the sequel of a dual interpretation of the well-known Broadway and West End production Wicked, which centers on the unlikely bond between two distinct sorceresses.
The show itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a light pink glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the wicked witch, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.
They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing movie of the previous year in the UK, and scored ten Oscar nominations, earning a pair for best costume and set decoration.
