Approximately 25,000 households in south-east Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after powerful weather events impacted the area, producing powerful gusts hitting 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Extensive Impact
Homeowners witnessed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing power throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews deployed to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
At the same time, around 1,000 households in Victoria also faced electricity disruptions after the capital city saw its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations handled over five hundred emergency reports across the region, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

- Wyndham area - nearly 180 emergency requests
During the peak on yesterday, in excess of 28,000 power users in the state were lacking electricity.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this coming days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent storm activity expected across different parts of both states.
Health Warning
Medical authorities cautioned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the current weather patterns.
This caution comes after historical occurrences where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
