The athlete earned 20 international appearances for New Zealand before changing representation to Samoa.

Australian rugby league's authority has stated that participants who join the “breakaway” R360 will be barred for 10 years.

R360, which plans to launch in 2026, is aiming to attract rugby union and rugby league players with substantial agreements and a condensed fixture list.

Top National Rugby League stars have reportedly received offers by the breakaway group, which will involve six to eight men's teams and four women's teams based in major cities worldwide.

The Samoan the player, who represents New Zealand Warriors in the league, has confirmed he has had talks with the breakaway league.

Ryan Papenhuyzen, Zac Lomax, Payne Haas and Gray are also said to be considering joining the rebel league.

A group of union nations, including Australia, recently imposed a ban on R360 recruits participating in test matches.

“We have consulted our teams and we've taken firm action,” stated Australian Rugby League Commission chief Peter V'Landys.

“Regrettably, there will always be groups that try to exploit our code for potential financial gain.

“They don't invest in talent pipelines or the advancement of athletes. They simply exploit the dedication of other organizations, endangering athletes of financial loss while gaining personally.

“In truth, they represent, counterfeiting a code.”

R360 is co-founded by former England World Cup winner Tindall and funded by independent financiers.

Following the prospective rugby union bans were announced last week, it said: “We aim to collaborate collaboratively as part of the worldwide fixture list.

“The event is designed with bespoke schedules for both genders and R360 will allow all athletes for global fixtures, as written into their agreements.”

The new league will apply for endorsement for its proposals from rugby union's governing body, union's administrative organization, at its council meeting in 2026.
