One 60-day journey through Australia was terminated days after the death of an elderly woman who was left behind by the vessel on a isolated island.

The passenger had been hiking on the remote island with other travelers from the vessel, but separated from the party for a pause. The vessel sailed away leaving her and came back later that day after the crew became aware the woman was unaccounted for.

An extensive hunt found her person the following day.

Authorities are examining the event, in coordination with law enforcement and the state coroner.

Head of the voyage organizer stated that travelers and personnel on the vessel were informed that the continuation of the journey had been called off due to the "sad loss and prior engine troubles".

In a statement, he added that guests would be given a total repayment, and said the organization was working "to arrange the homeward trips of the passengers via chartered flights".

Authorities also issued an revised statement, and said they had "issued a order to the Master" banning any new passengers from getting on the ship.

The official said that they would visit the ship in the Australian city upon its coming back.
