Uche Ignites Straightforward Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Despite entering their first-ever continental campaign, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Missing star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding win that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

A further three points in their upcoming fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct passage to the knockout stages, especially following a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Seize the Opportunity

This occasion provided a chance for several Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second game in succession.

Shelbourne were clinging on desperately. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for two agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

Pino Seals the Contest

The contest was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise positive night for the traveling side.
