The UK is ready to advance with employing the total value of seized Russia's assets to bolster the Ukrainian war effort, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to come to the table.

They clarified that the initiative would be executed in strong partnership with the United States.

UK restrictions have blocked more than £25bn of Russia's resources since Russia launched its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, until now, funds sent to Ukraine using Russia's funds had solely been sourced from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their goal to push forward toward utilizing the complete amount of the seized Russian sovereign funds to halt hostilities.

He added that more measures in the coming days and weeks would increase the strain on Moscow.

This announcement follows European Union officials gathered in the Danish capital previously to discuss using immobilized Russian funds for a 140-billion-euro credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, American leader Donald Trump called on Group of Seven partners to confiscate or employ immobilized Russian holdings, according to news outlets.

The total of seized Russia's assets in the European Union is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

Moscow carried out large-scale bombardments across the Ukrainian territory on Friday, resulting in power cuts in many areas of Kyiv, the city, and eight other regions.

A pair of individuals were fatally injured and a minimum of 20 people were hurt in the assault, authorities in Ukraine said.

In a message on social media after the attack, Zelensky commented that the premeditated assault focused on public and utility structures.

"The necessity is not mere statements but firm measures - from the America, the European Union, and the seven nations - in supplying defense mechanisms and applying restrictions," he wrote.

"Each restrictive measure weakens Russia's war machine," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

Additionally that day, Zelensky told media outlets he would encourage Sir Keir to join the PURL program, under which alliance members purchase arms from the America to give to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the Britain's consistent assistance for Ukraine, he noted it should indicate firmly that it would engage in the initiative, as well as apply more sanctions on the Russian Federation.
